Dr. Waylon Hunt
Waylon Hunt, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer / Co-Founder, received his B.Sc. (Major) in Microbiology and Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Therapeutics from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. His research was conducted at St. Boniface General Hospital Research Centre in the Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders. His research focused on investigating the role of a key DNA repair enzyme involved in cell death caused by stroke and neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, Dr. Hunt's research was aimed at discovering how and why Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), a polyunsaturated fatty acid, protects brain cells in a number of neurodegenerative disorders associated with aging, including Alzheimer's disease. He received the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba Fellowship award and the J.G. Fletcher Fellowship for Research in Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals for his research. He has published his work in peer reviewed journals and has presented at national and international conferences. He has over 10 years of laboratory experience and over 15 years of business and professional experience.
