Electrocardiogram (ECG) & Stress Tests
Our Registered Nurses perform ECG with or without the stress component to determine baseline cardiac electrical conductance as well as the heart's response to physical stress.
Our Registered Nurses record a trace of the electrical activity of the heart. An ECG test can identify abnormalities in cardiac rhythm which may provide clues as to current cardiac status. ECGs aid in the identification of arrhythmias, detection of coronary artery disease, and development of safe exercise programs; they are useful in assessing risk for a cardiovascular event.
We provide two types of ECG testing; Simple ECG Tracing of the electrical activity of the heart at a resting state and Stress ECG Testing which assesses cardiac function, in the presence of stressful stimuli (exercise). Some cardiac abnormalities only present themselves during a stress event.
